Overview:

We are seeking an experienced L2 and L3 Storage and SAN Engineer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining storage infrastructure, handling incident resolution, and ensuring optimal performance of storage systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with vendors to log tickets, track resolution, provide updates, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain a Preventive Maintenance calendar and review NAS access control permissions.
  • Manage storage resources including Volumes, LUNs, Aggregates, Pools, S3 buckets, and service levels.
  • Oversee RAID and Array group management as well as provisioning and configuration of S3 buckets.
  • Perform diagnostics on event logs, troubleshoot issues, and analyze space utilization trends.
  • Administer zoning, prepare Major Incident Reports (MIR), and review operational checklists.
  • Analyze repeated incidents or alerts, manage certificates, and plan SAN fabric expansion.
  • Monitor the health of storage application suites and generate capacity management reports.
  • Handle incident, request, and change management tasks; integrate new devices into monitoring tools.
  • Maintain SAN infrastructure connectivity, manage upgrades, and perform data migrations.

L3 Specific Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly call analysis and manage replication reconfiguration.
  • Audit administrator accounts and manage Snapshot or Snap Mirror configurations.
  • Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major incidents and analyze repeated incidents or alerts.
  • Implement performance tuning as recommended by OEMs.
  • Update and maintain documentation related to Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Critical Function Impact Analysis (CFIA), availability, and capacity management.
  • Perform risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Execute continual service improvement initiatives.
  • Plan and conduct disaster recovery (DR) drills, and prepare/update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and knowledge base articles.
  • Maintain and update infrastructure "As Is" documents.
  • Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes including all minor and major updates and upgrades.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in storage and SAN administration
  • Strong knowledge of storage management concepts including volumes, LUNs, RAID, and pools
  • Experience with S3 bucket provisioning and configuration
  • Ability to troubleshoot storage and SAN infrastructure issues effectively
  • Experience with incident, request, and change management
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and execution
  • Good vendor management and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze incidents and prepare detailed reports such as RCA and MIR
  • Strong documentation skills for SOPs, knowledge bases, and infrastructure status
